Please get your pets microchipped. It's inexpensive and will help get your pet back home quickly.
It's a permanent ID, unlike collars that can come off.
Ask at the shelter about microchipping options available.
If you have lost your pet, PLEASE check area animal shelters in person! And LOOK at all the animals - don't expect the overworked shelter staff or volunteers know each and every animal in their care.
