About Us

Helping Paws of North Texas was created in 2011 by Marilyn Fry, in an effort to help small-town shelters rehabilitate stray animals for adoption. She chose to focus on the Richland Hills Animal Shelter due to the vision and dedication of the staff. In the years following this partnership, Helping Paws of North Texas and the Richland Hills Animal Shelter have worked together to rehabilitate animals and find them forever homes. Sadly, we lost Mrs. Fry in January 2019, but Helping Paws of North Texas continues on in her memory.

We are an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our fundraising efforts help provide the shelter’s adoptable animals with emergency medical needs, microchips, food, and medication. We assist with adoption events by providing networking and materials. Our mission is to help find EVERY adoptable dog and cat a forever home. We also assist senior citizens in Richland Hills with vaccinations for their pets. We hope in time to expand our reach to neighboring cities.

We are now looking for like-minded individuals who share our vision. We need people who would like to help with fundraising, event planning, and people with computer and photography experience. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer.

Helping Paws of North Texas is solely dependent on donations to continue our mission. To donate, please click on the link, or you may mail check or money order to:
